About medicine & health in the United States
In the United States, over-the-counter medicines carry a standard Drug Facts label that lists active ingredients first, then inactive ones. Dietary supplements carry a Supplement Facts panel instead and, unlike medicines, aren’t approved by the FDA before they’re sold. Products here are added as TrustPick users scan them.
Product pages list the active and inactive ingredients as printed, and, once analysed, the regulatory context for each. TrustPick doesn’t give dosing or medical advice; that belongs to the label and your pharmacist or doctor. Where an ingredient is treated differently across India, the EU, the US and Canada, the product page shows each market separately.
Worth checking on the label
- The active ingredient and its strength, so you don’t double up across two products
- Inactive ingredients such as colours, sweeteners or lactose if you need to avoid them
- Supplement claims, which are not reviewed the way medicine claims are
